I'm back!

Oh it is so good to be home! Why is it we can't wait to go on vacation, but we look forward to coming home just as much?
Charleston was fantastic except for the humidity. I would recommend going there to anyone but do it in the spring or fall after the heat and humidity has gone. We did so much while we were there that it is hard to remember everything. The first place we went was to Magnolia Hall plantation.
Founded in 1676 by the Drayton family, it is the oldest public tourist site in the Lowcountry, and the oldest public gardens in America. This place is fantastic. We toured the house (no pictures allowed in the house), did the slave tour and also took the swamp boat tour.
I could have spent the whole day there soaking up the gardens and watching the wildlife.
My hubby said that since I saw my alligators I could go home right then and there.
I'm not so sure about that with all the trees with their branches covered with spanish moss and vines growing everywhere, I had a hard time keeping up with everyone. I wanted to just stand and soak it all in. Most people would tell you to go to see Boone Hall plantation, but I would tell you to be sure to see this place.
I'm sure you will get tired of hearing about Charleston but if you ever get the chance go see it for yourself but give yourself at least a week to enjoy all there is to do.
Well now I got to go do laundry and that will take me a week!

  1. Good Morning Terry Sweetie...
Oh what beautiful photos you have shared today. I loved them. That moss hanging from the trees is just gorgeous. Magnolia Hall plantation is just beautiful. I am so glad you shared. I love the bridges and my gosh can you imagine the work the gardner has to do here? Just so beautiful. Looks like right out of a movie.

I was born in Charelston. My Daddy was in the military. My folks have lots of pictures of me and in every one of them, in the background is all this beautiful moss. Our pictures ofcourse are all black and white. I love seeing it in color. It is so much more vivid.

Thank you for taking me back to a beautiful time and place. I haven't been back to Charleston for years. It is just as breathtaking today as it was then. I can't wait to see more pictures. I'll be watching.

    Country hugs sweetie...Sherry
